Our music sounds like …

Yes, we call it ‘our sound’ because the sound of the Hurricane Brassband from Maastricht (the Netherlands) is unique. This marching band knows to play the way the old bands sounded, the music of Eureka, Tuxedo, the Onward and many others. Sometimes we also play what’s up today Down Yonder.

Several times the band was a guest at among large jazz festivals like Jazz Ascona (CH), Gronau Jazz (D), Jazz Festival Lichtensteig, Breda, Enkhuizen and Music Festival Riesa. Even not to forget, playing at the birthplace of Jazz “New Orleans” at the French Quarter Festival. Also the band plays at gospel concerts regulary.

To refresh the New Orleans spirit, we regularly organise and host workshops with well-known New Orleans guests such as Lillian Boutté, Thomas L’Etienne, the late Mr. Milton Batiste (Olympia Brass Band), Benny Jones (Tremé Brass Band), Leroy Jones and Rick Trolsen.

Music on all occasions and all places …

So we play music for all occasions like; streetparades, Jazzfests, funerals,on the street or in your pub on the street or in your pub etc. We also give different workshops based on the theme “New Orleans and traditional Brassband Music”!
